CrowdFundCast: Recommendations from the SEC Small Business Forum

I recently got around to listening to Brian Knight’s excellent CrowdFundCast podcast that he produces periodically.  His latest podcast discusses the SEC Small Business Forum, which we’ve covered previously.

Sarah is an accomplished attorney with vast experience with the securities and finance industry.  She spent four years at the SEC as the Chief of the Office of International Corporate Finance.  Brian interviews Sarah Hanks, along with Thaya Knight,  in this edition from November 20th.  Sarah is the CEO of CrowdCheck but she also moderated the afternoon roundtable which focused on the element of Crowdfunding and the regulatory environment.

For those policy wonks or Crowdfunding addicts which simply love the concept of crowdfunding this is a great resource.

In this podcast the discussion mainly revolves around the four recommendations from the panel which cover:
  • Portals are not Broker Dealers
  • Best Practices must be allowed to evolve (not dictated)
  • Investor Limits
  • Integration (Crowdfunding plus 506 Offerings)
