Lumawake, an iPhone dock which was originally turned away by kickstarter, nailed there goal today. Earlier in the day, with on a couple hours left according to their site, they will still a couple thousand dollars shy of their $150,000 funding goal. But success waited to the final moments of the day to reach their objective.
Lumawake ended up doing their own Crowdfunding campaign using white label platform SelfStarter, which Crowdfund Insider wrote about in November. The SelfStarter platform was started by Lockitron when they experienced the same challenges that Lumawake experienced in being turned away by Crowdfunding leader Kickstarter.
Congratulations to the team at Lumawake and their perseverance which has paid off. Funding continues to be accepted with this project. Expected ship date is early 2013.
