Vancouver woman determined to finish brother’s brave filmmaking journey

Be Brave Film IndiegogoVancouver’s Erin Northcott’s dream is to complete her late brother’s movie, Be Brave.

“The only thing I want to be able to fulfil Daniel’s last wish, and in doing so bring this beautiful film and its message to the world.”

At 20, Daniel Northcott set out on a 10-year mission to travel the world and create a film about “interconnectedness.” He spent eight years interviewing people in war zones and sacred sites, visiting four continents, before being diagnosed with leukemia in July 2008. When doctors told him he had three to six months to live he tried to not only complete his film, but to chronicle his final days.

He left behind over 1,000 hours of footage and a 40-minute rough cut that he bequeathed to his Erin, with the wish that she oversee his movie’s completion.
