In Conversation with Kevin Straszburger from Crowdonomic

crowdonomicRecently I met up with Kevin Straszburger from Crowdonomic during the busy Social Media Week Singapore. We then connected on Twitter and decided to expand knowledge on Crowdsourcing and Crowdfunding through this In Conversation post.

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a french entrepreneur newly arrived in Singapore for a fresh start. I created with 2 friends (among other projects) an ethical fashion ecommerce website in Paris. But last summer I wanted to try something else. I felt in love with SEA few years ago so I decided to settle in Singapore for a while. Because I’m damn passionated about startups, innovators, creatives, I looked for how I could help and empower all this amazing people. Naturally I’ve been interested by Crowdonomic, a crowdfunding platform for people based in Asia, and I decided to join them. My mission is an everyday dream: empower every people out there who wanna make their project real.

What is Crowdfunding?
Basically, crowdfunding is about getting money from the crowd. You have an idea, whatever it is, you post it online, you pitch it to people on the web (that’s what we call “the crowd”), you put an financial objective (for example, “I need to raise 10 KS$ for my project”) and people will decide to finance it or not. In return to their funds, you give them some rewards.

For example, if someone finance you with 10 S$, you’ll send to him a postcard, if 20 S$, you’ll send him a postcard + a music etc… You’re completely free to choose in this process.
