Video Games: The Movie Promises Intimate Look At Gaming Industry

Video Games: The Movie is a feature length documentary which aims to tell the untold story of video games by an in depth look into not only how games are made, marketed and consumed by looking back at the industry’s history, current trends as well as the evolution of gamer culture. Where is the industry and the audience headed? Is it the same place? The entire story will be told through the eyes of game developers, publishers, and consumers.

Video games are obviously an integral part of the cultural fabric of the world, and the recent democratization of game development has only served to increase the velocity of that phenomenon. Video games are huge in the crowdfunding space, as evident from Kickstarter’s stats.

Video Games: The Movie is a feature-length documentary and was recently completed by MediaJuice Studios. It promises an intimate look into the video games space past, present and future. Over 100 interviews were conducted in the making of the film. They’ve now turned to Kickstarter for help in post-production – creating a score, editing, motion graphics, etc.

My favorite stretch goal: at $150,000 of funding they’re going to pitch Daft Punk to create an original score. How awesome would that be? (In case you haven’t heard, Daft Punk is a hot item right now.)
