Startupland Promises Look Into Startup Culture, DC Accelerator

Startupland is a documentary series currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, and it promises an intimate look at the roller coaster ride that is being an entrepreneur embedded in a startup accelerator.

The documentary promises more than just interviews and footage from within the “war room.” That war room: “The Fort,” or the Fortify Ventures Accelerator Program, a Washington DC-based accelerator with a focus on high-growth startups. The filmmakers also plan on weaving in discussion and interviews with seasoned startup vets, investors and other experienced professionals.

The five companies that will be featured in the series are as follows…

LegCyte leverages technology to make legislation easier to understand, generates legislative insight and analytics, and makes information sharing simple.

RidePost  is a safe and social ride-sharing marketplace designed to dramatically reduce the cost of travel.

SNOBSWAP is an online marketplace where fashion lovers swap, sell, and buy pre-loved designer clothing and accessories. It allows users to turn their closet into cash, update their wardrobes, and makes designer labels accessible to everyone.

TrendPo measures and ranks news and social analytics for politics by compiling news mentions and social media metrics for 3000+ politicans, 300 political groups, and 150+ politcal issues.

The Trip Tribe is the social marketplace for group travel and disrupts a tremendous opportunity in online travel.

Filmmaker Justin Gutwein has already shot hundreds of hours of footage for the series and he has been doing all of the heavy lifting, but he is now turning to Kickstarter in hopes of securing $75,000 for final production of the documentary. More information is available at startupland.tv.
