TubeStart Officially Launches Crowdfunding Platform For YouTubers

tubestartWe recently brought you the story of TubeStart, an innovative crowdfunding platform with four funding models available for YouTube content creators. The platform officially launched from beta today.

The platform has a host of campaigns in the early stages of seeking funding. The two to watch early on will be The Disneyland Geek and UltraSlo, The Molecular Slow motion channel. Both of these campaigns have opted to make use of TubeStart’s subscription-based funding model. This model allows project creators to run a campaign in perpetuity. Backers pledge a monthly amount for regular content from creators.

“YouTube receives billions of monthly visits and comprises a substantial percentage of web traffic. Yet, the current ad-based monetization model is not serving content creators or their fans well,” said Joself Holm, cofounder of TubeStart. “Especially for niche-genre content creators, subscription-based crowdfunding — where viewers can subscribe for as little as $5 per month — provides the best, most sustainable production and funding model available. With digital media already changing the traditional entertainment production and distribution processes, anyone with a little know-how and a good idea can become a YouTuber with subscription-based crowdfunding.”
