Sensoria Smart Sock Fitness Tracker Stomps Crowdfunding Goal

Sensoria FitnessSensoria Smart Sock -a fitness tracker built into your socks closed their crowdfunding campaign this morning have almost doubled their goal.  Initially Sensoria had a targeted raise of $87.000 but closed at over $115,000 well past their goal.  We initially picked up on this interesting project in June – when we included it in our Mailbox feature.

The company Heapsylon ran their crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo and promptly pushed 3 stretch goals upon hitting their goal earlier this month.  Incorporating the stretch certainly helped boost contributions but their top targets of $120K and $150K fell short.

The company has received their functioning prototype from well known electronics manufacturer Flextronics.  The App is to be Android / iOS operational out of the gate with  Windows mobile on the future list as well.

Introducing Sensoria FitnessSensoria claims to be the most accurate fitness tracker as it incorporates the technology where much exercise is being generated.  Their textile sensors and accelerator technology hopes to give users the most accurate step, altitude and calorie counter available today.  Deliver is expected to be in March of 2014.  The retail price has been posted at $199 but supporters were able to capture a reward to receive Sensoria at a significant discount.  Pre-orders will continue to be available directly on the Sensoria Fitness web site which is live now.

Wearable tech is the rage.  The internet of everything will soon be an accepted fact instead of a unique novelty.  Early innovators are capitalizing on demand as the smart phone has allowed for incredible technological innovations to become everyday and now the tech is moving into other, more targeted areas.
