Indiegogo Initiative Will Boost Crowdfunding For Female Creators In March

Indiegogo’s stats show that the platform (and crowdfunding in a more general sense) is a powerful tool for directing capital toward female-founded businesses and endeavors…

In fact, we’ve found that about 47% of campaigns that reach their funding goals on Indiegogo are run by women. To put that into perspective, that number is nearly 4 times higher than the number of female-owned businesses that receive venture capital. We think that’s pretty incredible. It’s becoming clear that crowdfunding is playing a crucial role in supporting women with the tools to turn their dreams into reality and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it.

Indiegogo’s Adam Chapnick announced on Twitter that Indiegogo is launching an initiative to take place from March 3rd-8th. For each $25 contributed toward an eligible campaign, Indiegogo will match with a $1 contribution. That is a 4% funding boost for eligible campaigns.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to start a campaign using this link. For crowdfunders with an eligible campaign already running, they can use this form to seek eligibility. All participating campaigns will be available on Indiegogo’s International Women’s Week partner page.
