Microco.sm Opens to the Public

MicrocosmMicrocosm launched a crowdfunding round on Seedrs in September 2013.  In what may be the fastest equity crowdfunding ever, Microcosm raised £100,000 almost immediately on the day they launched.  It took just 2 hours to fully fund with individuals investing anywhere from £100 up to £12,000.  This was the second crowdfunding round for the company as they had completed an earlier round on Seedrs in 2012 experiencing similar (if not quite as rapid) success.

Microco.sm and SeedrsToday the London based company has announced they are now open to the public.  After many months of testing with beta customers, the forum and bulletin board provider is available to anyone interested in creating a custom forum in only a few clicks.  The past several months the creators have been working to improve and fine tune the features and design of their web based application.  The funds raised on Seedrs provided the much needed capital to get the product to the next level.

Microcosm was created by David Kitchen and Matt Cottingham, two entrepreneurs frustrated by the lack of innovation and flexibility in much of the publicly available software powering forums today.  Kitchen simultaneously runs one of the largest cycling forums in the world.  Microcosm reverses the Facebook model and focuses on what you are interested in – rather than who you know.  At only £5 per month – Microcosm is one of the most affordable forum offerings on the market now.
