On Crowdhoster: Crowdfunding To Bring The Foo Fighters Back To Richmond, Virginia

foo-fighters-rva

There are two types of people, generally… those who like the Foo Fighters and those that are no fun. The band is led by frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. They’ve released numerous #1 hits, toured the world and are said to put on an incredible live show. (Come to Cleveland soon, please!)

Having said that, the Foo Fighters haven’t been to Richmond, Virginia in a long, long time… since May 17, 1998 to be exact. So, what do you do when an awesome band hasn’t been to your town in over 15 years? In the day and age of crowdfunding, you try to crowdfund their return.

That’s the spirit of a Crowdhoster campaign seeking $70,000 in funding. The campaign ends on May 31st, which gives the campaign’s four project creators about a month and a half at the time of writing to raise the funds. The good news is that Richmond’s Sugar Shack Donuts have already agreed to put in the last $5,000, so $65,000 is now the target.

They’re preselling tickets to the event, which is interesting considering a venue hasn’t even been secured yet. The campaign page does say that if the goal can’t be met contirbutors will get every cent of their pledges back. Tickets are being offered for $50 during the campaign.
