The Doctor’s In: ConnectOnCall Taps Return On Change for its $750K Equity Campaign

ConnectOnCall Application

ConnectOnCall has just launched its equity crowdfunding campaign on ReturnOnChange, seeking to raise $750,000 for a 20 percent equity stake to fund its digital physician on-call answering system.

Medical_Symbol_314860_7ConnectOnCall provides physicians with a new digital mobile on-call system. By updating the traditional way of taking call via answering services  (texting and paging patient information is no longer compliant with United States’ legislation such as the HIPAA and HITECH Acts), ConnectOnCall also attempts to document accurately what transpires during physician / patient phone calls.  Keep in mind that most of these physician/patient phone interactions occur before or after office hours, on weekends and holidays and often during the wee hours of the morning.

Siren Emergency LoadmasterHaving the opportunity to bypass the traditional answering service and to listen directly to the patient’s recorded message,  the on-call physician may more accurately and more quickly learn the existing concern, further eliminating possible miscommunication.  In addition,  ConnectOnCall connects physicians to their Electronic Medical Health Records so that physicians may make better informed decisions about patients, even after hours.

Per the company’s website, other features of ConnectOnCall include compliance with HIPAA and HITECH, ability to work with both landline or mobile phones, compatibility with iOS and Android Brett Rosenblattoperating systems and easy setup. Detailed further, ConnectOnCall.com integrates data from the physician’s PMR or EHR both with or without an HL7 Bridge. With HL7, patient data remains both accurate and current.

In addition, patient instructions and follow up issues are sent directly to the physician’s office resulting in a higher and more efficient and seamless level of integration. As an example, when the physician documents that his or her patient requires a follow-up appointment the following day, the office staff will receive Vince Deramothe necessary and appropriate information for that follow-up visit.

Founders and Medical Colleagues CEO Vince Deramo, MD, Treasurer Brett Rosenblatt MD, and CTO David Rhee are each specialists in the ophthalmologic field, having completed residencies and fellowships at Wills Eye Hospital, Duke University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Tufts University. The doctors have collaborated on the ConnectOnCall prototypes and Rhee has designed the wireframe layout of ConnectOnCall’s mobile web application.  The company is David Rheebased in Hauppauge, NY, near where ophthalmologists Deramo, Rosenblatt and Rhee continue their medical practices.

ConnectOnCall’s Return on Change campaign ends in 68 days.
