Funds for Arsenio Hall Failed Crowdfunding Bid Set to Go to Charity

Actor, comedian and talk show host Arsenio Hall launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo a couple weeks ago to raise a ridiculous $1 billion to buy the Los Angeles Clippers from infamous Donald Sterling. Perhaps Arsenio was hoping for a new day job as his re-animated talk show was recently cancelled due to low ratings.  As we now know another known media figure, Steve Ballmer, beat Arsenio to the punch. Ballmer who recently left a stumbling Microsoft, now has another project in managing the Clippers.  Hopefully he is better with Basketball than Microsoft.LA Clippers

According to the campaign’s website, Mr. Hall wrote, “Anyone who knows me knows I love basketball.  Now, if I could raise
money to actually be ON the Clippers, I would.  But they don’t allow
that.  And, it appears, someone has beat me out on buying the team!  But we should not despair.  Every penny raised will still go to the National NAACP.”

Arsenio Hall“This non-profit is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization and is dedicated to fighting for social justice for all Americans. So let’s help make the world a better place! Help me put YOUR money where MY mouth is.  Let’s keep busy giving The National NAACP a boatload of money!”

Backer’s perks include: a re-tweet from Hall, a phone or Skype call, and if someone donates $100k, they will be Mr. Hall’s “sidekick” for one full episode of his show…
