Brief: UK Equity Crowdfunding Platform Volpit is Officially Regulated By the FCA

Volpit, an equity crowdfunding platform based in the UK,  announced it is finally authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). On Monday, co-founder of Volpit Patrick O’Flaherty took to his Twitter account to share the exciting news with his followers.

Other members of the team also wrote on the platform’s Facebook, “We are delighted to announce that Volpit is now authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Coupled with the fact we are the youngest platform to gain authorization, we are very proud and excited about the path ahead.”

According to the FCA, “Where this firm carries on regulated activities in the United Kingdom, it will be subject to regulation by the FCA. Where it carries on regulated activities in other EEA States, it may be subject to regulation by the FCA, a local EEA State regulator or both, depending on the activity undertaken.”
