SyndicateRoom, a fast growing equity crowdfunding platform in the UK, has announced that Captive Media has returned to their site to raise additional capital. Captive Media holds the title of the first deal ever closed on SyndicateRoom – a funding round that took just 27 days, back in November of 2013 to raise £300,000. The company had been turned away by Dragons Den and subsequently found success equity crowdfunding. Captive Media is returning to the portal to raise an additional £300,000 representing 9.97% equity in the young company.
Captive Media is a promotional platform that targets a key, young male, audience. The Captive Media screens are an innovative, interactive approach to marketing. The screens have been installed in locations in the UK that have been quite well received. Using the Captain Morgan Rum example the installation experienced a 12.4% uptick in sales. The funding round on SyndicateRoom benefits by having two well known Angel investors lead the round. Rajat Malhotra and Peter Cowley have both been recognized by the United Kingdom Business Angels Assocation as “Business Angels of the Year”. A third recognized Angel, Mike Ullman, has also joined in on funding the company.

This funding round is expected to aid in growth and screen installation with plans on hitting profitability in 2015. The funding stands today at 40% completed with four investors contributing over £121,000.
