Russian Muslims Seeks Funds Through Boomstarter For Mobile Mosque in Moscow

Ready to find an alternative to the four small mosques in Moscow, a group of Russian Muslims has launched a Boomstarter initiative to raise 850,000 for a mobile mosque.

Mobile Mosque 3Explaining details about the project, the campaign’s organizer Alsou Hafiz shared that the two million Muslims in Moscow are forced to settle for just four current metropolitan mosques. Due to the rhythm of the modern city (i.e. the hectic traffic) and the small capacity, all worshippers are not able to have the time they need for regular prayer.

With a mobile mosque, all Moscow Muslims are able to be in the place of worship without any stress and challenges. Hafiz and his team are planning to purchase a caravan, conduct the proper renovations, buy a car trailer, hire a driver, and launch a website. Hafiz notes that inside the trailer will be equipped with a separate room for ablution, as well as a mini prayer hall.

Mobile Mosque 1By operating this mosque mobile, the Moscow Muslim community will have the following:

  • 6 stationary mobile mosque close to major business centers
  • Have the ability to use an app to find or request the mobile mosque

Those who help fund the project will receive such as a calendar with pictures of the Moscow Mosques. Since its launch, the campaign has raised 40,400p from 33 backers. It is set to close on April 10th.
