Little Lion Declares: Crystal Maze Will Return to the UK Thanks to Indiegogo Campaign Success!

With less than two weeks until its Indiegogo campaign comes to an end, revamped UK game show Crystal Maze has successfully secured over £580,000 from 4,300 backers.

As previously reported, the creators of the new campaign, Little Lion Entertainment, stated that the new game will bring the hype and fun that the original show had, which ended in the mid-90’s:

The Crystal Maze 5“You’ll get to play the maze just as contestants did on the original show – placing you at the centre of the action. What we really want, is for people to live the magic of the hit television program for themselves. We will be lovingly recreating the famous set just as it was on the original show. All four famous zones will be present; Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic, not forgetting of course, The Crystal Dome!

“We are delighted to be announcing the return of none other than the legendary Maze Master himself, Richard O’Brien! Richard won’t be running around the maze himself, but he will be welcoming guests in time honored fashion… to find out how, you’ll just have to come along and see!”

During a recent update, the Little Lion’s artistic director Tom Lionetti-Maguire announced that since the campaign surpassed its initial £500,000 goal, the show will be returning the small screen and it’ll be better than ever:

“We’ve hit our target, the Maze will be going ahead, now let’s make it even better! The campaign will continue, and tickets are still available. The more support we get, the bigger and better the Maze will be!”

New stretch goals are the following:

  • The Crystal Maze 4£600,000: Add two extra games to each zone. Which gives contestants and fans more of The Crystal Maze to play and experience.
  • £675,000: Little Lion will construct a special prison for those who fail their challenges and get locked in. Contestants can still buy their teammates out with Crystals, but this new prison will feature brand new challenges they can complete to escape
  • £750,000: The studio will place CCTV cameras in each room, which will be linked up to screens in the bar so contestants can watch other contestants’ trials and tribulations after they finish their time in the Maze.

The campaign is set to close on mid-July.
