Brief: Taylor Swift Donates $50,000 Towards GoFundMe Campaign Dedicated to Fan Battling Leukemia

Taylor SwiftAlways looking to help a fan in need, pop sensation Taylor Swift offered up $50,000 towards a GoFundMe campaign dedicated to 11-year-old Naomi Oakes, who was recently diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia.

According to People, Oakes’ family posted a video on YouTube sharing her story and revealing the fact that because her treatment involves will involve hospitalized for the next six to nine months. This will cause the pre-teen to miss Swift’s show in Phoenix, Arizona on August 8th. She is shown in the video singing the musician’s hit song “Bad Blood” as her theme song.

Naomi OakesTwo days after the video was posted, Swift donated to the crowdfunding campaign that was set up by Oakes’ uncle to raise money for her medical expenses. She also wrote a message:

“To the beautiful and brave Naomi. I’m sorry you have to miss [the concert], but there will always be more concerts. Let’s focus on getting you feeling better. I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family.”

On Tuesday, Oakes’ uncle posted a video of her emotional reaction to Swift’s donation and message:

“I can barely breathe. I seriously think I’m going to pass out right now.”
