Interactive Shares is Newest Entry into Real Estate Crowdfunding Sector

DC based Interactive Shares is the newest equity crowdfunding platform to dive into the real estate market.  The investment funding portal joins Fundrise as having its base of operations in the US capitol city. Founded by Yulia Yaani and Burak Bunes, the company wants to provide institutional type investment opportunities to all “qualified” investors.  Vetted investment projects will accept participation from as little as $5000.

Yulia YaaniYaani, an MBA graduate of Columbia, previously worked in real estate private equity holding positions at Amstar Global Partners and Related Group. She holds both a Series 7 and 63 licenses. Bunes, a Columbia MBA grad as well, has over 15 years experience  in consumer lending and was previously an executive at Capitol One’s consumer credit risk business.  He has also held a management role at Horizontal Analytics in credit and model risk management.

The new platform is targeting both debt and equity investments in the range of $1 to $10 million.  They are currently looking for “experienced real estate sponsors” with a proven track record to provide high-quality deals to investors.  Interactive Shares will generate revenue from companies via a contingent placement fee to Broker/Dealers.  The investment portal is also hoping to attract  “green” buildings, matching investors to sustainable real estate projects.

Presently Interactive Shares has two projects listed.  The first is a “distressed single family residential fund” in Kansas City.  The second is for an “active adult community” near New York City.
