Beart 3

BEART, a crowdfunding platform that is dedicated to artists, art institutions and art professionals, has recently launched a Seedrs initiative to raise £75,000 as it begins its expansion plans.

Beart 1The reward-based funding portal stated brings together artists, curators, gallerists, collectors, museums, foundations and other art world professionals with their respective followers for the purpose of developing a faithful audience engagement towards the realization of art projects.

“Our aim is that BEART will allow people involved in the art business to get funds and realize new ideas and art projects. We also hope that it will support art institutions to raise funds in an innovative and web oriented way. In addition to this, we believe that BEART will be able to create a new kind of network for the art community involving art professionals, art institutions and art lovers: a web hub where the art players will share ideas, projects and experiences.”

Beart 4Since its debut in 2015, BEART has had 14 crowdfunding projects on its website and four have been successfully funded. It has also entered into a business partnership with art consultant, Matthew Hockley and the art fair, Miart Milano, which took place April 7th-10th. Currently, the BEART is considered an All or Nothing website, which means projects must be 100% to receive funds. It also receives 7% of the total amount raised as commission.

Funds from Seedrs will be used product development (40%), go-to-market (35%) and operational costs (25%). Since its launch, the campaign has raised nearly £60,000. It is set to close early July.
