Virtuix Closes at $7.7 Million on SeedInvest Reg A+ Crowdfunding Offer

Virtuix by Omni in Action

Virtuix, the perfect platform to pair your Oculus VR goggles to get the full augmented reality experience, closed its funding round on SeedInvest last night at 11:59PM (Sunday, July 31, 2016). According to the campaign page, Virtuix raised $7,734,764 in preferred equity. A tweet by Virtuix estimated investors to be numbered over 1600.

In Virtuix’s Reg A+ filing, the offering circular stated the company would raise a minimum of $5 million or a maximum of $15 million in equity financing so the final tally came in just about mid-range. The “Testing the Waters” portion of the project generated over $10 million in indicated interest.  Virtuix has previously raised $1.1 million in a Kickstarter rewards campaign and approximately $8 million from VCs and other investors.  The company started shipping Omni’s this past December.

We hope to hear more soon on Virtuix’s next steps in development of their VR platfom and their vision for the future of the company.  Virtuix may be first out of the gate but other entries will be challenging them for leadership in the VR motion platform segment. What is certain is that every serious gamer will have an Omni (or something similar) in their home soon.
