Crowdfunding Site Kickstarter Receives Monaco Media Prize 2012

Congratulations to the Kickstarter team for winning the Monaco Media prize for 2012!

This award has been bestowed annually since 2007 by Prince Albert II of Monaco.  Recipients are recognized for “media innovations that will improve our world.”  This event brings in both old media and new media to discuss the future of all media at a two day event.

Kickstarter, founded by Perry Chen, Yancey Strickler and Charles Adler was recognized as the worlds largest open funding platform for Creative Projects.  More than $300 million has been pledged since launching in 2009.  Prince Albert stated, “Making profits and benefiting humanity can – and often do – go hand in hand.

Again – congratulation to the entire team at Kickstarter.  It continues to amaze us how far you – and all the other emerging platforms – have come in such a short period of time.
