Competitors Combine Against Kickstarter

In the first month since it launched on Oct. 31, crowdfunding platform Kickstarter U.K. has received more than £2 million ($3.2 million) in pledges from nearly 46,000 people for over 400 projects, of which 30 have so far been successfully funded. Projects must receive at least their full pledged target, otherwise they walk away empty-handed.

TechWeek Europe says this compares with the U.S. version of Kickstarter which has seen more than $350 million pledged by over 2.5 million people to fund over 30,000 projects. It adds that in the U.K. projects have come from all over the country.
