Originally expected to launch on January 1st 2013, Crowdfunding site Gamelaunched has announced they are pushing back launch date.
The gaming industry has experienced incredibly success in the Crowdfunding realm. Double Fine Productions raised over $3
Million far surpassing their original goal of $400,000. This amazing success has been followed by others such as Brian Fargo’s Wasteland 2 which pledged to use Kickstarter for all future projects. In fact Gaming and funds raised has held a top position in Kickstarter for 2012.
In light of all of this crowdfunding joy niche sites have naturally started to crop up to take advantage of this new funding industry. Gambitious, one of the first to launch, has commenced with equity crowd funding in the European Union and expects to launch equity Crowdfunding in the United States once the SEC gives the industry the green light.
Gamelaunched, targeting international participation clarified their obstacle with the statement:
…It is a very complicated site, and when one section of coding gets behind in production, it creates a wave that affects the entire schedule and we have to try to catch up. One of our largest hurdles has been setting up the merchant processors for our international clients. We believed that we had the issue solved, only to discover during incorporation that there was a miscommunication on the part of the payment processor. We are looking at several solutions to handle this. Our delay shouldn’t be extensive, but to put an actual date on launching again would be premature at this time. We need to re-evaluate some of our plans and implement better solutions to the problems we have encountered.
Gamelaunched has set themselves apart by creating a large group of gaming experts to participate in the site launch and evolution. Not only does Gamelaunched intend on Crowdfunding game for financing but they will continue to support their crowdfunded projects with a store to sell directly to the gaming consumers. Gamelaunched is currently accepting project submissions.
