Crowdtilt Crowdfunds Boat Damaged in Boston Bombing Standoff

David Henneberry's boatSoon after the now infamous boat was shot up by authorities as they subdued the second Boston Marathon Bomber, the internet rallyed to help out the owner of the boat.

As we all know now, the boat owner had stepped out back and noticed something amiss in his boar on a trailer in his back yard.  He went to investigate and looked inside the boat and saw a pool of blood.  He did the right thing and quickly called 911.  When the authorities arrived, they called for the Bomber to come out. When he did not they opened fire and the boat took probably more than a few hits.

Let’s Fix David Henneberry’s Boat (That Got Ruined in the Boston Bomber’s Standoff)!

A gentlemen named Craig Dunlup, a member of Crowdtilt since February of this year,  quickly set up a campaign to raise $2500.00 for David Henneberry’s boat.

That amount was quickly surpassed and now stands over $3000.00.  Craig himself kindly seeded the goal by donating the first $500.00 which gave it a quick boost.

There are other campaigns cropping up on other crowdfunding sites such as Indiegogo.  At most recent count there were five such campaigns.

There are certainly more efforts from good hearted individuals wanting to reach out and there will probably be more over the coming days.
