“Renman Live!” is an online video series created by longtime Incubus producer Steve Rennie. “Renman” as he is affectionately referred to is now focused on helping musicians and music professionals learn about the business. Crowdfunding, then, was a natural topic for one of his recent episodes.
The episode features Karen Bair, a music crowdfunding expert from the Indiegogo team. It also features members of Protest the Hero, the Canadian metal band that recently raised big money on the Indiegogo platform and cut the cord with traditional music publishers in making their new album. Both have interesting insights into how to approach crowdfunding as a music pro. If you’re in the music world, this is an hour well spent.
