The young man in the video above is Shawn Prince, a 23 year old noob mechanic that is taking on one of the great engine swaps of all time. If you want a fun car on a budget, a great place to start is a Mazda Miata with a small block Chevrolet engine.
As you can see in the video above, things went awry when an excited Shawn went to fire up the engine for the first time. Flames aren’t uncommon when firing up a carbureted engine, but in this case the flames got out of control quickly and resulted in some pretty sever first and second degree burns.

Mr. Prince had just started a new job and was in between insurance providers at the time of the accident, so he is stuck with the full bill for his injuries. Now he has a CrowdTilt campaign in an effort to recoup some of the damage.
I wish him the best. I would have gone with a flexible funding campaign myself, but that is for another post.
