Revelo is a company based in Toronto that has taken to Indiegogo to crowdfund the LIFEbike, a bike that is clearly aimed at busy citydwellers on the go.
LIFEbike (Lightweight, Intelligent, Flexible Electric bike) is a simple solution that allows commuters to travel without breaking a sweat, and not worry about showering, changing, and parking. The LIFEbike is easy and friendly for anyone to ride (cyclists and non-cyclists). Being lightweight, compact and chainless, it can be taken from the condo, into the elevator, and directly into the office.
The bike has a target production weight of around 30 pounds, making it extremely light for an electric bike. The top speed of the bike is 15 MPH.
One of the unique aspects of the design is the smaller back wheel. The design keeps the center of gravity on the bike low and allows the rider to ride in a more upright and comfortable position.
The best part? 18 miles of range on 5 cents of electricity. Who needs cars?
A first run production LIFEbike is currently available on Indiegogo for $1500. A limited edition bike runs $1800. Funding is light thus far but there is plenty of time left in the campaign.
