Biggest Indiegogo Campaign Ever? Scanadu Scout Gets Closer

Scanadu

With a little over two weeks to go the Scanadu Scout has amassed almost $750,000 in funding. (If you aren’t familiar with the nifty little home health monitoring device inspired by Star Trek click here to read more.)

The most funded Indiegogo campaign of all time is still Matthew Inman’s “Let’s Build A Goddamn Tesla Museum” campaign at just over $1.3 million, so the Scout is already over halfway there. It currently sits at #7 on Indiegogo’s all-time list.

Will it get there? Hard to say. It’s probably unlikely due to the sheer amount left to raise, but it isn’t impossible. In general crowdfunding campaigns tend to start with a high velocity of funding, taper off throughout the campaign and receive another pop towards the end as backers buy in at the last minute. With the amount of media coverage the Scout has received it is conceivable that we could be looking at a record-setting Indiegogo campaign.

Backers will be excited if the campaign can manage a million dollars. Scanadu has promised a “surprise” stretch goal once the $1 million milestone is reached.
