Eastleigh Farm, a raw milk dairy farm, has filed for non profit status under the name of Eastleigh Farm Educational Foundation. Now it is launching a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo to save the farm, the largest provider of raw milk dairy products in Massachusetts and one of the last expanses of open space in Framingham. The crowdfunding campaign has set a goal of $5000 and already it is nearly there standing at just under that amount – with 44 days left in the campaign.
According to Doug Stephan, owner of the raw milk dairy farm and popular talk show radio host of Doug Stephan’s Good Day Show, “I have long held the mission for Eastleigh Farm to provide the community with healthy, raw milk dairy products while maintaining humane animal welfare practices. I now realize what an important function the farm provides for educating youth and the general public about the benefit of open space, chemical-free farming and specifically, nutrient-rich foods.” Doug continues, “In fact, my morning show often features experts who understand the food revolution and the conflict that truly natural, real foods are engaged in with the giant food industry food processors and the government lobby.”
Eastleigh Farm is in danger of being lost to development, and Doug Stephan is dedicated to assuring that does not happen. As a long-time innovator who appreciates out-of-the-box thinking, Mr. Stephan has turned to crowdfunding to raise the funds necessary to keep Eastleigh Farm running and available to the public.
“We’ve called on our friends at Weston A. Price Foundation, an organization founded by Dr. Price, the ‘Isaac Newton of nutrition,’ and dedicated to nutrition education to help us save Eastleigh Farm,” shares Mr. Stephan. “They responded in spades with enthusiasm and referrals to other organizations and people who understand the critical need for educating the public about non-processed and raw, nutrient-rich foods and their impact on overall health.”
