We recently reported that the Scanadu Scout was threatening to take the top spot as the biggest Indiegogo campaign of all time. We can now say with some certainty that that is going to happen. It is only a matter of time.
No, seriously… it’s a matter of time. The Scanadu team has lengthened the horizon for their Indiegogo campaign. The campaign has been revised to end until midnight on Saturday, July 20th. The campaign has already raised $1.1 million and needs just over $200,000 at the time of writing to surpass The Oatmeal’s Tesla Museum campaign for #1 on the all-time list.
Indiegogo may have made the suggestion themselves. As with many crowdfunding platforms, Indiegogo takes an active role in managing the success of campaigns on their platform and often will reach out to a campaign creator directly to offer support. That may include advising on the campaign’s execution or helping the project creator gain media exposure.
