Crowdfunded Activity Tracker Misfit Shine Hits Stores Around the World

Misfit ShineCrowdfunding on Indiegogo where the “Activity Tracker” hit its goal on first day of crowdfunding, Misfit Shine has announced official launch of device in the United States, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong. The activity tracker will also be in Apple Stores in Europe and Australia later this month.  Originally scheduled for deliver in March of 2013 the device is a few months late.  The crowdfunding campaign closed in January of this year having raised $846,675 from 7957 backers.

The Misfit Shine is a competitive entrant into the very hot activity market.  The cool looking device measures the intensity and duration of your physical activity and provides metrics such as steps taken, distance travelled, and estimated Misfit in Boxescalories burned. A user may wear it at night to track sleep as well. Shine comes with a clasp and a sport band so you can wear it in a number of different locations. Other accessories available include a leather and metal band and a necklace, that enable you to not only wear Shine anywhere on your body but to any occasion.  Misfit Shine may also be used for swimming.

The device  syncs with your iPhone wirelessly and is powered by a regular user-replaceable coin cell battery which lasts up to four months.
