We first reported on The Gun Box earlier this month. The tech-packed firearm storage device promised safe gun storage for backers. At the original time of writing the campaign had amassed $25,000, but has since added over $100,000 in funding to end the campaign just short of $140,000.
The campaign was fully funded, allowing The Gun Box’s creators to avoid the dreaded extra 4% fee Indiegogo tacks on for flexible funding campaigns that don’t hit their stated goals.

The Gun Box addresses these issues and more with its robust outer shell, secure electronic locking mechanism and ergonomic design. Features include:
Ryan Hyde has a reason to be passionate about gun safety in the home. He has seven children.
The team behind the device now says that production is already underway. The plan is to begin shipping backer units on December 12th of this year so that they can arrive in time for the holidays.
Indiegogo backers will be happy to know that their initial vote of confidence netted them some nice savings. Retail pricing is about 30% above what backers had to pledge to secure early bird units across the board…
