Just before its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo came to an end on Tuesday (September 9th), SKULLY Systems, the creators of the “world’s smartest” helmet, SKULLY AR-1, announced it is officially extending the project on the platform for another 30 days.
During a recent update, Chairman and CEO of SKULLY INC. Marcus Weller, Ph.D. wrote, “Over 1,400 rides from 40+ countries around the world are current on Team SKULLY, and we are incredibly grateful for your support. You are part of a global team that is leading a revolution in technology and motorcycling. Together, we are pushing rebel innovation to the next level.”
“Due to the overwhelming response, we are extending the availability of the SKULLY AR-1 for another 30 days! Spread the word: everyone now has even ore time to get their hands on the AR-1.”
Weller also noted, “Remember: as a special thank you to those of you who’ve already pre-ordered the AR-1, we are sending out official team packages to help you rep SKULLY on the road. The packages include official SKULLY hat, shirt, and decals. Sizing information will be collected at the end of the campaign, so watch your email of future updates (estimated delivery December 2014).”
As previously reported, the SKULLY AR-1 is made of lightweight, aerodynamic polycarbonate and is consider highly weather resistant. Along with having anti-fog, anti-scratch, anti-glare E-Tint visor, the helmet features:

- Rearview Camera: Gain full situational awareness with its wide-angle rearview camera.
- GPS Navigation: Never miss another turn with an integrated navigation system that gives the user timely information even in low-reception areas.
Yahoo! reported the AR-1 will also include Bluetooth connectivity and a smartphone companion app, which will be available for both Android and iOS. The app will allow the user to sync the helmet with their smartphone so they can make or receive calls, along with play music from services like Pandora. The SKULLY AR-1 will cost U.S. Indiegogo users $1,399 and is available in Matte Black and Gloss White. International users will be paying $1,599.
