BrewDog Set to Open First Beer Hotel At Ohio Brewery Location on August 27th

On Tuesday, crowdfunded brewing company BrewDog announced it is set to open anticipated craft beer hotel, the DogHouse, on August 27th, at its brewery location in Ohio. The opening of the hotel comes just a little over two years after BrewDog secured $324,072 through its reward-based crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for the new building.

BrewDog claims that the DogHouse is the first crowdfunded craft beer hotel and will be attached to the sour beer facility. This new hotel will feature include beer-themed rooms, punk jacuzzi, shower beer fridges, a spa that will have malted barley messages and hop face masks. The BrewDog team stated on Indiegogo:

We want to create the top craft beer destination on the planet. Our brewery in Ellon, Scotland has become a destination for craft beer fans across Europe, and we want to build an even more amazing beer destination stateside. With The DogHouse focused on amazing craft beer from BrewDog and our favourite breweries worldwide, we’re creating the ideal environment in which to immerse yourself in the ultimate beery weekend.”

The DogHouse now features 32 guest rooms, including a 645-square-foot Brewmaster suite and a 460-square-foot Punk suite. BrewDog reported that each of the rooms features a fully stocked beer fridge filled with BrewDog’s headliner craft beers, seasonal brews and guest favorites that are hand-picked from co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie. Each of the 32 rooms will also feature beer taps through a personal keg bar that will be activated as soon as guests purchase a growler of their favorite BrewDog brew at any time during their stay. Speaking about the hotel, BrewDog USA CEO, Tanisha Robinson, stated:

“The DogHouse is truly a hotel like no other. With the help of our passionate community, we have created a must-visit destination for craft beer fans around the world. We never shy away from ambitious tasks at BrewDog and the creation of the DogHouse is no exception. We have pushed the boundaries of what modern hospitality can be, and in doing so, have created an unrivalled beery experience. We hope this inspires brewers and hoteliers to continue innovating and expanding the possibilities of what can be done with beer.”

In addition to the DogHouse, BrewDog also unveiled its on-site, interactive beer museum. According to the brewery, the new museum has 6,000 sq ft space that provides a journey through the brewing process, a deep dive into the history of craft beer, and a hands-on experience of ‘the fundamental four’ ingredients that contribute to the creation of a craft beer.

Brewdog then revealed that its all-new, state-of-the-art sour beer facility set to open in late 2018. This expansion will allow guests to wake up to a view of BrewDog’s sour beer foeders, and the smell of freshly mashed malt. The brewery added that construction is currently underway for the second DogHouse hotel at the brewery’s headquarters in Ellon, Scotland
