Republic Europe Joins LSE Private Securities Market as Registered Agent

Republic Europe, part of Republic US, has become a registered agent under the London Stock Exchange’s Private Securities Market.

Republic Europe had previously participated in a Private Intermittent Securities and Capital Exchange System (PISCES) offering via a structure called a TPEIC (Tradable Private Equity Investment Company) representing shares in Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE).

In the UK, policymakers are seeking to improve both public and private markets as well as access to capital. As a key global financial center and the most robust venture market in Europe, it is vitally important that the country supports an innovation-driven economy with a robust capital market.

Republic Europe will now be able to offer investors access to private company auctions through the London Stock Exchange’s Private Securities Market prior to an IPO. The platform is already an active facilitator of online capital formation for primary offerings as well as secondary transactions.

James Newman, CEO of Republic Europe, says his company is bridging trusted public markets with private companies, “defining the next economy.”

Republic Europe said it intends to “collaborate closely with established market participants to facilitate seamless capital flow and expand its regulatory and operational capabilities in the UK and European markets.”

Suhaylah Chatoo, Head of Portfolio and Investment Legal at Republic Europe, described its approval as a registered agent as “pivotal” for the online investment platform.

“…we are unlocking unprecedented liquidity and access for private companies and investors alike. We are thrilled to partner with the London Stock Exchange to expand our market presence, especially at a time when companies are staying private for longer.”
