MoonPay has introduced support for Cash App Pay, enabling eligible customers in the United States to fund purchases of digital assets directly from their Cash App account balances. The company positions itself as the sole platform currently providing this payment option specifically for buying cryptocurrencies and other digital assets.
Under the new arrangement, qualifying US users can apply funds held in their Cash App accounts when completing transactions on MoonPay’s own platform.
The same capability extends to a range of partner services within MoonPay’s network.
These include Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Moonshot, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Tangem, LOBSTR, and Edge.
As a result, individuals can acquire digital assets through these connected applications and services without needing to transfer money through intermediate steps or additional platforms.
The checkout process has been designed for simplicity.
After an initial connection between the accounts, users remain inside the MoonPay purchasing interface throughout the transaction.
There are no external redirects, no need to re-enter credentials, and the payment can be finalized with a single confirmation.
This approach aims to reduce friction and create a smoother experience for those already accustomed to managing finances through Cash App.
MoonPay’s leadership has highlighted the significance of reaching customers who already rely on Cash App for everyday financial activities.
By linking the two services, users gain immediate access to a broader selection of digital assets while drawing from a familiar and trusted balance.
The company emphasizes that this partnership opens the digital asset space more readily to a large existing user base.
Supporting this integration is MoonPay’s extensive set of regulatory approvals.
These include a BitLicense and a Limited Purpose Trust Company Charter issued by the New York Department of Financial Services, authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, and registrations in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
Together, these credentials form the foundation of the compliance framework that underpins the new payment option.
From the Cash App side, representatives have described the collaboration as a way to deliver a convenient and recognizable payment experience at the point of purchase.
While Bitcoin continues to occupy a central place in Cash App’s digital asset offerings, the integration is intended to provide users with greater flexibility in how and where they choose to allocate funds toward other assets available through MoonPay.
It is worth noting that Cash App Pay functionality is supplied by Block, Inc., and that Block does not itself offer virtual currency services as part of this payment method.
The addition of Cash App Pay expands the set of funding choices available to U.S. customers seeking to buy digital assets.
It joins other established options supported by MoonPay and reflects ongoing efforts to lower barriers between traditional payment apps and the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Eligible users can now explore the feature directly through MoonPay or its listed partner platforms, potentially streamlining the path from everyday balances to digital asset ownership.
