Danske Bank Rolls Out Butterfly Advisory Service on BlackRock’s Aladdin Wealth Platform

Danske Bank has rolled out a new wealth advisory offering that pairs its own investment specialists with BlackRock’s (NYSE: BLK) Aladdin Wealth technology. The service, branded Butterfly, went live for the bank’s private banking clients on 9 September 2026 and is described by the lender as its largest single investment in wealth management to date.

It also makes Danske the first Nordic bank to deliver investment guidance built on Aladdin Wealth.

The platform is designed to move advice from periodic reviews toward ongoing, data-supported oversight.

Advisers receive a unified view of each client’s holdings and can run continuous portfolio checks, stress tests, scenario modelling and optimization.

When markets shift or a portfolio drifts from the agreed strategy, the system flags risks and opportunities and suggests concrete next steps.

The bank’s aim is to give affluent private clients the kind of institutional-grade analytics that were once reserved mainly for large asset owners.

Butterfly takes its name from the idea that small market signals can later produce outsized effects on wealth.

Danske presents the tool as a way to catch those early movements rather than react after the fact.

Routine monitoring and analysis are increasingly automated so advisers can spend more time on personalised conversations and recommendations.

Pricing follows a tiered model focused on ongoing advice rather than transaction fees alone.

The launch completes work announced in January 2025, when Danske said it would adopt Aladdin Wealth across its investment services in Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

At that time the bank framed the partnership as a way to scale existing advisory strength, improve timeliness and give clients a clearer picture of their entire portfolio whether they work with a specialist or use self-directed tools.

Implementation formed part of the lender’s Forward ’28 plan, which emphasises digital platforms, proactive advice and partnerships.

Aladdin Wealth supplies the analytics layer: connected portfolio construction, risk oversight across asset classes and accounts, reporting and workflow support from proposal through implementation.

BlackRock’s Nordic leadership has described client demand as shifting toward advice that is more personalised, forward-looking and grounded in current data.

Combining that technology with Danske’s in-house expertise is intended to improve both adviser productivity and client outcomes.

Initial access is limited to private banking customers.

The bank plans a later expansion to a broader premium segment and to clients in Finland and Sweden before the end of 2026.

The move positions Danske more firmly in the competitive Nordic affluent market, where lenders are using technology to deepen fee-based relationships rather than relying solely on traditional banking products.

For clients, the practical change is a more continuous conversation about risk, opportunity and alignment with long-term goals. For the bank, it is a bet that institutional-quality tools, delivered at scale through existing advisers, can differentiate its wealth offering in a crowded field.
