CloudTech Opens Institutional-Grade Cryptocurrency Trading to APAC Investors

CloudTech Group has introduced RooRooEx, a digital-asset trading venue meant to give professional desks, high-net-worth clients, and individual investors in the Asia-Pacific region access to tools and pricing that have long been associated with large institutions.

The Melbourne-based firm built the platform on technology from Integral, a long-standing currency-technology provider, and is rolling it out first in Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia, with a broader global offering planned.

Rather than relying on a single liquidity pool, RooRooEx links several providers and routes orders automatically in real time.

The design is intended to improve fill quality, tighten spreads, and limit slippage in markets that never close.

Supported markets include major cryptocurrencies quoted against the Australian dollar and the US dollar, as well as USDT pairs.

Traders can use standard market and limit orders plus time-weighted average price (TWAP) strategies, which help larger tickets move through the market with less disruption.

The timing aligns with tighter oversight of digital asset businesses in Australia.

As licensing expectations rise, both institutions and sophisticated retail participants have been asking for clearer pricing, stronger operational controls, and the kind of reliability they already expect in traditional markets.

CloudTech presents RooRooEx as an answer to that demand: a single interface that blends exchange-style access with the flexibility usually found in over-the-counter desks.

Edward Zhang, CloudTech’s general manager of treasury, custody and capital markets, described the launch as part of a longer effort to become a global digital-asset infrastructure provider.

He argued that features once reserved for professional OTC counterparties—deeper liquidity, institutional pricing, and more advanced execution—have been hard for high-net-worth and active individual traders to obtain.

Combining CloudTech’s existing trading and custody stack with Integral’s workflows is meant to close that gap inside one platform.

Zhang also stressed role-based access and controls that span front, middle, and back office functions, so clients can supervise trading, risk, settlement, and reconciliation inside a structured framework.

Integral CEO Harpal Sandhu said maturing crypto markets now require the same calibre of technology that traditional finance already uses.

Integral’s infrastructure, he said, lets CloudTech deliver institutional-grade pricing, execution, and liquidity to clients operating around the clock.

RooRooEx is positioned as complementary to CloudTech Custody.

Users can request a dedicated custody account for longer-term storage while still withdrawing to external wallets or moving assets onto CloudTech’s independent custody setup.

Founded in 2021, CloudTech operates OTC trading through CloudTechX, retail on- and off-ramps via CobWeb Pay, and custody services; the new venue extends that “swap, spend, store, save” lineup into a more exchange-like product.

For APAC investors, the practical offer is local fiat rails—especially AUD—paired with aggregated liquidity and algorithmic order types that smaller venues often lack.

Success will depend on volumes, licensing clarity across the three launch markets, and whether the platform can convert early access into sustained activity. For now, the launch marks CloudTech’s clearest move yet from OTC and payments infrastructure into a broader trading venue aimed at the region’s professional and affluent crypto users.
