The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) will make changes to its senior management team from Nov. 1, including appointing new leaders for corporate development, financial crime policy, and the development of Singapore as an international financial centre.
Jacqueline Loh, currently deputy managing director for corporate development, will relinquish the role and become principal adviser in the office of MAS Managing Director Chia Der Jiun.
In the advisory role, Loh will support Chia on risk oversight, governance and leadership development. She will also continue as chair of the Singapore Payments Network.
Loo Siew Yee, currently assistant managing director for policy, payments and financial crime, will succeed Loh as deputy managing director for corporate development.
She will oversee MAS’ corporate functions, including Organisation & People Development, Technology, Finance, Risk and Currency Groups.
Loo’s current role will be taken over by Gillian Tan, who will become assistant managing director for policy, payments, and financial crime.
Tan will oversee prudential policy, anti-money laundering, enforcement and supervision of payment services providers.
Tan is currently assistant managing director for development and international, a role that will be assumed by Thong Leng
Yeng, currently executive director of MAS’ Anti-Money Laundering Department.
The Development & International Group is responsible for developing Singapore as an international financial centre and managing MAS’ international relations.
The appointments come as Singapore continues to strengthen its financial sector amid evolving regulatory, technology, and cross-border risks.
Chia thanked Loh for her contributions to MAS, highlighting her 13 years as deputy managing director across the Markets and Investment, Development & International, and Corporate Development portfolios.
“Jacqueline has made significant and enduring contributions to MAS,” Chia said.
She has provided exemplary leadership as Deputy Managing Director for 13 years across multiple portfolios— Markets and Investment, Development & International, and Corporate Development.
Chia said Loh had overseen the investment and risk management of MAS’ official foreign reserves and led initiatives that strengthened Singapore’s position as an international financial centre, including in fintech.
More recently, Loh had focused on strengthening MAS’ organisational capabilities, including people and leadership development and organisational transformation, he said.
Loh joined MAS in 1987 and has also served as deputy managing director for Markets & Development and assistant managing director for Policy, Risk & Surveillance and Finance, Tech & Risk Management.
She has also chaired the Bank for International Settlements Markets Committee for six years.
Loo joined MAS in 1998 and has held senior roles covering policy, payments, financial crime, risk and surveillance.
Tan joined MAS in 2015 and has served as assistant managing director for Development & International, chief sustainability officer and executive director of the Financial Markets Development and Enforcement departments.
Thong joined MAS in 2007 and has served as executive director of the Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Centre Development departments.
