Chainlink Brings Market Data Infrastructure to Stellar’s Tokenized Asset Network

Chainlink’s Data Feeds and Data Streams have gone live on the Stellar network, supplying developers with the external market information required to build lending platforms, prediction markets, perpetual futures, and related on-chain financial tools.

The rollout connects Stellar’s expanding real-world asset (RWA) activity—already exceeding $4 billion—to decentralized finance (DeFi) functionality.

Simply moving assets onto a blockchain is only an initial step. Those assets must also be priced accurately, traded efficiently, borrowed against, and accepted as collateral.

The current phase of development centers on increasing utility and broader distribution.

By supplying industry-standard data services, Chainlink enables more of the value already resident on Stellar to be put to productive use in a secure and dependable manner.

With reliable pricing data available natively, stablecoins, tokenized equities, and other digital assets on Stellar can serve as collateral or tradable instruments within a more active DeFi environment.

This expands the ways participants can deploy capital.

Removing a longstanding obstacle to application development allows builders to create the markets needed to attract additional users and liquidity, forming a growth engine for the network.

Improving the usefulness of assets represents the logical next stage after issuance.

Developers now gain access to the same oracle infrastructure that underpins the large majority of existing DeFi activity and has supported tens of trillions of dollars in on-chain transaction value.

The launch fulfills earlier commitments under the Chainlink Scale program, through which the Stellar Development Foundation is helping cover costs so that builders can obtain high-quality, enterprise-grade data services more affordably.

Several applications within the Stellar ecosystem have begun using the newly available data at launch.

These deployments support essential operations such as processing collateral, calculating loan-to-value ratios, executing automated liquidations, and establishing reference rates for stablecoins.

Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, stated that Stellar’s adoption of Chainlink as its data infrastructure opens the door to a new generation of DeFi and tokenized asset applications.

With Data Feeds and Data Streams available natively, he noted, developers receive the high-quality, reliable market data necessary to construct secure lending markets, stablecoins, and tokenized assets and to expand them for wider use.

Raja Chakravorti, Chief Business Officer of the Stellar Development Foundation, observed that tokenization itself is merely the starting point. For on-chain financial markets to function at institutional scale, assets require dependable systems for pricing, execution, and movement.

Chainlink’s oracle services strengthen that foundation by furnishing the data and connectivity developers need to create next-generation financial applications on Stellar.

As these components advance together, the focus shifts from merely issuing assets on-chain to actively putting them to work.

The integration builds on Stellar’s October 2025 decision to join the Chainlink Scale program, which encompasses data services and cross-chain interoperability tools.

Stellar, designed for payments, asset issuance, and financial services with low fees and rapid settlement, has long facilitated the tokenization of instruments such as funds and treasuries by regulated institutions.

Reliable market data now supplies a missing piece that lets those tokenized holdings participate more fully in lending, trading, and collateralized applications.

By equipping Soroban smart contracts with verifiable price information, the arrangement reduces the risk of misvaluation or reliance on stale data—risks that can cascade through automated liquidations or incorrect collateral assessments.

Data Feeds support standard pricing needs, while Data Streams offer lower-latency updates suited to higher-frequency trading or derivatives use cases. Together they position Stellar’s RWA holdings for greater productive deployment across DeFi protocols.
