Hyperliquid Strategies Raises Share Buyback Authorization to $100M as $PURR Stock Falls 33%

Hyperliquid Strategies Inc. (NASDAQ: PURR), the digital asset treasury vehicle trading under the ticker PURR, has substantially enlarged its authorized share repurchase program. The company’s board raised the ceiling from an earlier $30 million limit to a maximum of $100 million and simultaneously lengthened the program’s end date from December 5, 2026, to October 31, 2027.

Roughly $72 million of capacity remains available under the newly expanded authorization.

The decision underscores the board’s confidence in the firm’s long-term capital allocation approach and is intended to give management greater latitude to repurchase PURR shares within its overall treasury framework.

Purchases can occur through open-market transactions at prevailing prices, privately negotiated deals, or other methods permitted by federal securities laws.

Management retains full discretion over timing, volume, and pricing, which will depend on the prevailing share price, broader market and economic conditions, and legal requirements.

The company has stressed that the authorization creates no obligation to buy any particular number of shares and that the program can be extended, suspended, or terminated at any time without advance notice.

The announcement arrives against a backdrop of pronounced underperformance.

PURR shares closed near $8.80 on Friday, representing a decline of approximately 33 percent from an early-October peak of $13.05.

Over the same period, HYPE—the native token of the Hyperliquid blockchain that forms the core of the company’s treasury—fell more than 18 percent from its October high near $95, trading around $77.

By comparison, Bitcoin traded largely between $80,000 and $87,000 during the month and finished roughly 6 percent below its monthly high, highlighting the sharper relative weakness in both the stock and the underlying token.

Hyperliquid Strategies positions itself as a specialized digital-asset treasury platform whose primary objective is to maximize shareholder value by accumulating HYPE.

The company describes Hyperliquid as a high-performance blockchain engineered to support a broad range of financial activity.

Its strategy seeks to deliver capital-efficient exposure for U.S. and institutional investors through a combination of token accumulation, staking, yield optimization, and active participation in the ecosystem, rather than relying solely on directional price movements.

The firm currently presents itself as the largest dedicated HYPE treasury vehicle available in public markets.

The expanded buyback capacity provides the company with additional tools to manage its equity base while it continues to pursue its accumulation mandate.

Because actual repurchases remain discretionary, the ultimate impact on share count and per-share exposure to HYPE will depend on future market conditions and management decisions. Investors will continue to monitor both the pace of any open-market activity and the evolution of the company’s HYPE holdings relative to the performance of the broader digital asset market.
