The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) Tokenization Service (DTS) is now live.
According to a note the firm distributed, 20 Depository Trust Company (DTC) Participants have signed agreements to access DTS, including JPMorgan, Bank of America, Citi, Morgan Stanley, and Fidelity Investments. DTC has more than $114 trillion in assets under custody.
DTC declared that this has brought tokenized securities into regulated financial markets. The framework operates under a three-year Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) No-Action Letter issued in December 2025.
DTS allows participants to mint digital representations of RWAs held by DTC. The tokenized securities are said to be digital twins that retain all rights as the traditional assets.
The service can execute peer-to-peer transfers or collateral movements 24/7.
The service is currently integrated with the Canton Network and DTCC’s private Besu network. DTCC plans to add additional blockchain networks in 2027.
Partners in the service include BitGo Bank & Trust, Blockdaemon, Broadridge, DFNS, DRW, Fireblocks, HIFI, Kaleido, Matter Labs, Ondo, Prometheum Capital, Talos, Taurus, Tradeweb, Transcend and Virtu.
Frank La Salla, President and CEO of DTCC, said that they are bringing their resiliency, governance, and operational standards into digital markets.
Industry insiders have long anticipated a transition to digital assets as the future of all finance. Because financial services is one of the most regulated industries in the world, the transition has taken longer than first hoped. Still, the benefits of digital assets are clear, including near-instant transactions, lower costs, and the potential for novel assets that were previously difficult to integrate into the broader financial services world.
