On Friday, season one of the Indiegogo alum, Con Man, became available on Comic-Con HQ. This news comes less than two months after Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), announced that the super popular web series would make its way to the new video streaming platform.
FireFly actors, Nathan Fillion, and Alan Tudyk, took to the global crowdfunding portal last year and successfully raised $3,124,214 for Con Man. The show’s description reads:
“Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk) was a co-star on Spectrum, a sci-fi series which was canceled -Too Soon- yet became a cult classic. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Nathan Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major movie star. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events. The show will feature all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way to these events.”
Seth Laderman, EVP and general manager of Comic-Con HQ, previously stated:
“Comic-Con HQ is all about capturing the spirit of the fan community, and in its own way, so is Con Man. Alan uniquely understands all sides of the fan experience and he’s captured it in such a farcical way that it’s as much parody as it is commentary around the power of fandom.”
Tudyk then added:
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Comic-Con HQ family. For a series that was born out of a passion for the genre and support from the fans, we couldn’t think of a better way to connect with our community.”
Showing his excitement about the show’s season one release, Tudyk tweeted:

Comic-Con HQ will also produce a second season of the series, which will debut on the website later this year. The first season will be available on the platform next month, following the platform’s beta launch tomorrow.
