SCxSC 2016 is the annual conference organized by Securities Commission Malaysia. This year’s conference on the 3 & 4 November will revolve around specific areas of Digital Finance.
Equity Crowdfunding (ECF)
ECF is an innovative means of raising capital for businesses in return for giving equity ownership, facilitated by a web-based platform. It is an alternative market-driven approach for new businesses to validate their ideas, and a means for investors to discover new investment opportunities.
Digital Investment Services
Digital investment services (robo-advisory) are platforms that allow investors to allocate their funds for passive investments through the capital market and leverage on technology to enable access to investment monitoring and portfolio adjustments on demand.
Peer-to-peer Financing
P2P financing, also known as debt-based crowdfunding, allows businesses to raise capital from investors in return for a regular repayment at an agreed rate of return. P2P finance is suitable for businesses with a steady revenue stream, for growth financing.
Distributed Ledger Technology
Distributed ledger, also known as blockchain technology records all financial transactions on an immutable database that is publicly available. The technology is currently being experimented globally to reduce transaction costs in finance and capital market activities.
