LOS ANGELES — Adult crowdfunding website Offbeatr.com announced today that it is has raised more than $60,000 for its project creators.
The operators said the site’s unique voting phase, whereby only projects that receive a minimum number of votes can go on to raise money, has allowed projects to enjoy an 80 percent success rate compared to 40 percent on other popular crowdfunding sites.
Since its launch last August, Offbeatr claimed that it has registered more than 4,000 users and logged in more than 1 million page views.
The site also said that of the $60,000 it’s raised, the contributions have ranged from $5 to $2,000 for five projects. It also helped raise more than $10,000 in one day for the project Fantasy Sex Game: Furoticon Online, which went on to raise $39,000 in total exceeding its goal of $25,000.
