C.J. Ramone from the punk band Ramones, is seeking online donors for his first solo album «Reconquista». The Crowdfunding campaign is already online, as reported by the agency in charge in Berlin.
For the 47 year old, the album „is a tribute to the band, the fans and the good old times of punk“. Investors will receive items such as the album in Vinyl and on CD, exclsuive hand written lyrics, signed photos, their name featured in the credits, as well as a limited number of signed albums with a personal note.
C.J. Ramone was Ramone’s base player from 1989 to the dissolving of the band in 1996. From the founding members only the drummer,Tommy Ramone is alive. Singer Joey died in 2001, the base player Dee Dee in 2002 and the guitar player Johnny in 2004.
The Ramones are viewed as an icon by modern punk bands. They were iniated into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Three years later the first and only world wide Ramones museum opened in Berlin. In 2011 the Ramones received a life time achievement Grammy. In May 2012 Joey Ramone‘s solo album «Ya Know?» came out with yet unpublished songs.

C.J. Ramone plant erstes Soloalbum
Berlin – Der frühere Bassist der legendären Punkband Ramones, C.J. Ramone, sammelt im Internet Geld für sein erstes Soloalbum «Reconquista». Die Crowdfunding-Kampagne ist ab sofort online, wie die zuständige Agentur in Berlin mitteilte.
Für den 47-Jährigen ist die Platte «ein Tribut an die Ramones, die Fans und die guten alten Zeiten des Punks». Neben dem Album auf Vinyl und CD soll es für Kleininvestoren exklusive handgeschriebene Lyrics, unterschriebene Fotos, einen Platz in den Credits des Albums sowie eine limitierte Anzahl unterschriebener Alben mit persönlicher Widmung geben.
C.J. Ramone war von 1989 bis zur Auflösung der Band 1996 Bassist der Ramones. Von den Gründungsmitgliedern lebt nur noch Drummer Tommy Ramone. Sänger Joey starb 2001, Bassist Dee Dee 2002 und Gitarrist Johnny 2004.
Die Ramones werden von aktuellen Punkrockbands immer wieder als Vorbild genannt. 2002 wurden sie in die Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Drei Jahre später eröffnete in Berlindas weltweit erste Ramones Museum. 2011 wurden die Ramones mit einem Grammy für ihr Lebenswerk geehrt.
