GoFundme Purchased Crowdfunding.com Domain for $170,000

Crowdfunding for Everyone GoFundMeIt is being reported that GoFundMe purchased the domain Crowdfunding.com for $170,000.  The purchase was actually completed in September of 2012 as was reported on CrowdfundInsider.  What was not disclosed at the time was the amount paid.

As reported in AllThingsD, it is expected that GoFundMe will not be changing their name.

Launched in 2010, San Diego based GoFundMe is a do-it-yourself online fundraising service that has helped thousands of people raise millions of dollars in online donations for the fundraising ideas that matter to them most. GoFundMe allows anyone to crowdfund with a  personal donation websites.   The site is frequently used to leverage crowdfunding to pay for illness, accidents, disasters as well as personal celebrations and other personal needs. The site has reportedly raised over $75,000,000 to date.
