DonorsChoose Crowdfunding Platform Partners with Amazon

DonorsChoose ProjectsDonorsChoose Brings The Largest Selection Of Supplies And Resources To America’s Teachers

DonorsChoose has announced a collaboration with Amazon to help America’s teachers access the supplies and resources they need most for their classrooms.  U.S. public school teachers use the DonorsChoose crowdfunding platform to request resources for a classroom project, and donors can give as little as $1 to the project of their choice.

Projects range from basic supplies like pencils, markers, and paper, to more substantial requests like lab equipment, books, musical instruments and technology. When creating their projects, teachers will now have easy access to the hundreds of millions of items available on Amazon and can search and discover millions of teaching supplies available from Amazon’s Education and Teacher Supplies Store.

“Since 2000, we’ve been fortunate to work with a range of educational supply companiesCharles Best to fulfill more than 366,000 classroom project requests,” said Charles Best, founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org. “Teachers are excited to have Amazon.com as a new source for the supplies and resources they need. Now, there are virtually no limits to the creativity, ingenuity and inspiration that teachers can bring to their students.”

“We applaud the resourceful teachers who are using DonorsChoose.org to bring learning to life in their classrooms,” saidPrentis Wilson, Vice President, Amazon Supply. “We look forward to making our broad selection of education supplies available to students, whether they need pencils, tablets, microscopes or tubas.”

DonorsChooseDonorsChoose has channeled more than $184 million from 1.1 million supporters into classrooms across the country, reaching 9 million students since 2000. Half of the public schools in America have at least one teacher who has posted a project on DonorsChoose.org, and 81 percent of funded projects are from high poverty schools
