One Spark held their inaugural festival this past Spring in April. Over 130,000 attendees crowded the streets of Jacksonville, Florida for an event that was marketed as, “The Worlds First Crowdfunding Festival”. With attendance so strong organizers are already planning for a bigger event now scheduled for April 9-13, 2014.
Over 400 Creator Projects were present this past April covering the categories of art, innovation, music, science and technology exhibiting in venues all over downtown Jacksonville. Participants were competing for for $250,000 in available crowdfunding and millions in private investment opportunities.
One Spark thinks of itself as mix of Live Crowdfunding, ArtPrize (Grand Rapids) and SXSW (Austin). The big idea behind One Spark is connecting great ideas with the resources to make them happen. It should be noted that Jacksonvill Jaguars owner Shad Khan, invested well over $1 million in five One Spark 2013 Creator Projects.
Next year’s event will feature a larger prize pot of $300K plus millions in investment opportunities. Mark your calendars today.
